ECBA has a growing staff of highly qualified instructors. We make sure that each instructor has qualities that would make every customer at ECBA confident, secure and proud.
Each instructor knows the game, and how to teach it. On top of that, our staff is fun to be around! Educating athletes from all levels and playing abilities can be complex, so we choose our staff very carefully.

ECBA provides hitting, pitching, and fielding lessons for both baseball and softball athletes.

ABOUT
East Coast Baseball Academy is Charleston's premier site for baseball and softball training. It is a one of a kind, air-conditioned indoor baseball/softball facility.
We offer 15ft high batting cages with turf flooring, 2 HitTrax Simulators, 2 Hack Attack baseball pitching machines, 1 Spinball Baseball pitching machine,1 Spinball Softball pitching machine, a separate pitching area with regulation pitching mound as well as two plyowalls for weighted ball training. All cages have tees, L-screens, balls and everything you may need to work on your game.
Private one-on-one training is available from some of Charleston's finest trainers, including former major and minor league players, former and current college players and coaches,
active high school coaches and special guests.

RANDY CARLSON
Owner / Lead Hitting Instructor
Playing Experience:
Randy played high school baseball in Sinclairville, NY at Cassadaga Valley Central School. He went on to play at Jamestown Community College, where he led his team to the NJCAA Regionals in 1999. Carlson left his mark on the record books, ranking first in career walks, first in career triples, fifth in career at bats, ninth in career runs scored and 10th in career hits. After attending Jamestown CC, he went on to play at Lander University in South Carolina. While at Lander his team was nationally ranked as high as ninth in 2001. The same team finished with a school record 33 wins, including a season-high 18 Peach Belt Conference victories.
Coaching Experience:
After playing at Lander, Randy went on to coach at Lander University where he was the hitting coach and in charge of the catchers. He coached at Lander for 3 years before moving on to The Citadel where he coached for 6 seasons and helped guide the Bulldogs to the 2010 Southern Conference Championship. In his first three season at the Military College of South Carolina, Randy assisted with both hitters and pitchers and was the catching coach. He was then named hitting coach for his final three seasons and helped guide Bulldog hitters to one of the most prolific offensive seasons in school history in 2009. Carlson has led over 20 players to move on to the professional ranks during his coaching career.

Baylee Eaton
Softball Pitching Instructor
Baylee Eaton pitched collegiately at Central Arizona College and Charleston Southern University. She was the NJCAA Pitcher of the Year and 2x All-Region selection. She is the all-time winningest pitcher in CAC history.
As a player, Baylee trained with current Texas softball coach Mike White and her vast experience also includes training with Lyndsey Klein, who played for UCLA and USA softball and current college softball analyst for ESPN sports, Kayla Braud.
Baylee is from Eugene, OR and is currently an assistant coach at West Ashley High School.


ENGLAND SMITH
Hitting and Pitching Instructor
England brings an impressive resume to East Coast Baseball Academy. The Nashville, TN native attended Walters State CC, one of the top junior college programs in the country, where he was named conference Pitcher of the Year in 2012 as well as First-Team All-Conference. The hard-throwing left-hander transferred to the University of Tennessee and eventually finished his collegiate career at Lindsey Wilson College in Kentucky.
Smith went on to play professionally for the Glacier Outlaws of the Mount Ranier Professional Baseball League before relocating to Charleston, SC.

CHRIS HENDRICKS
Hitting and Catching Instructor
Chris Hendricks is a former assistant baseball coach at Marietta College in Marietta, OH. Chris offers one-on-one hitting and catching lessons at ECBA and coaches in our East Coast Bombers program. Prior to coaching at his alma mater, Chris helped lead the Pioneers to the D3 National Championship as a player.

Katie Wingerter
Softball Hitting/Infield Instructor
Katie Wingerter is from Prospect Heights, IL and played collegiately for the University of Illinois where she was a shortstop for the Fighting Illini.
She started 109 out of 111 games in her 3 seasons at UI after playing her freshman season at Northern Illinois University.
Katie offers hitting and infield instruction at ECBA.


STEPHEN EVANS
Hitting, Pitching, INF/OF/C Instructor
Stephen “Coach Red” Evans is a native from Vicksburg, MS. He attended Saint Aloysius High School. There, he led them to back to back state championships in 2009 and 2010. Coach Red was also Player of the Year for the state of Mississippi in 2010. After that, he signed with Hinds Community College.
After college, Coach Red jumped straight into Coaching. He was the Head Coach at Canton High school, and also served as an assistant coach at Ridgeland High School and Warren Central High School. During his coaching career, Coach Red has coached over 30 players that have gone on to play at the next level.
Coach Red joined us in 2020. He has coached multiple age groups for our ECBA travel teams. He also runs our Developmental Program and helps with summer camps. Coach Red loves being around this great game and all that it has to give back. He has been coached by some great coaches and hopes to return the favor to the next generation. Coach Red takes pride in doing the little things right. Dominate the Day!

Alex Graulich
Pitching Instructor
Alex Graulich is a former assistant coach at Auburn University - Montgomery.
Prior to joining the Warhawk staff, Graulich lettered for AUM during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. The Midland, Ga. native appeared in 14 games over two seasons for the Warhawks, working 16.2 innings of action and compiling a career record of 2-0 as a reliever.
Graulich played two seasons at Chattahoochee Valley Community College prior to his arrival at AUM, where he helped the Pirates to back-to-back Alabama Community Conference championships.
The son of Robert and Patricia Graulich, he has three older sisters, Stephanie, Sarah, and Becky. Graulich earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from AUM in the summer of 2019.


JORDAN LARSON
Hitting & Infield Instructor
Jordan is a native of Dodgeville, WI and played collegiately at the College of DuPage and Northern Illinois University.
At DuPage, Jordan was named an NJCAA Third Team All-American and was NJCAA Region 4 All-Region. At Northern Illinois University, Jordan started at first base for three years prior to playing one season of professional baseball in the Empire Baseball League. In the EBL he was named an EBL All-
Star, All-EBL Team, and was the league’s batting champion for that season as well.
Jordan has been an assistant coach at the high school level at Socastee HS as well having 5 years of experience coaching Little League baseball. Jordan will lead our 9u East Coast Bombers this Fall season and will also be conducting one-on-one instruction at ECBA.

Jonathan Kimball
Pitching and Hitting Instructor
Jonathan Kimball played collegiately at nationally ranked NAIA Tabor College in Hillsboro, KS. Before transferring to Tabor, he played at JUCO Feather River College in Quincy, CA.
A native of Mesa, AZ, Kimball attended Dobson High School where he was an all-region infielder and pitcher as well as team captain.
Jonathan is a student of the game who believes in tailoring a program to meet the needs of each individual player to maximize their on-field performance.
